This product information corresponds to the patient leaflet, prescribed by law in Germany, in all essential parts.
Field of application:
for supportive therapy of chronic eczema.
Composition:
Active ingredient:
Ointment: 100 g ointment contain:
ethanolic extract (1:5, 30% m/m) from Dulcamarae stipites 10 g
Film coated tablets: 1 film coated tablet contains:
dry extract (5:1) from Dulcamarae stipites 200 mg
Drops: 100 g (=101 ml) contain:
tincture from bittersweet stalks (1:5) 70.0 g
Extraction solvent: ethanol 30% (m/m).
Excipients:
Ointment: cetostearyl alcohol, paraffin, white soft paraffin, ethanol, purified water.
Film coated tablets: cellulose powder, lactose monohydrate, povidone, magnesium stearate, macrogol, hypromellose, colloidal anhydrous silica, talc, polyacrylate, titanium dioxide (E171).
Drops: liqueur wine.
Contra-indications:
none known.
Warning:
Drops: Cefabene® drops contain 26 vol.-% alcohol.
Dosage:
Ointment: unless otherwise prescribed, Cefabene® is applied 3 - 5 times a day to the skin area to be treated, rubbing it in gently.
Film coated tablets: unless otherwise prescribed, adults take 1 tablet once to three times a day, children take 1 tablet a day.
Drops: unless otherwise prescribed, adults take 30 - 40 drops 4 - 5 times a day, children half of the above.
Kind and duration of application:
Ointment: Cefabene® ointment should be applied in thin and even layer on affected skin areas.
Film coated tablets: Cefabene® film coated tablets are taken without chewing with some liquid (e.g. water).
Drops: Cefabene® drops can be taken undiluted or diluted with some liquid (e.g. water).
The duration of the treatment is not limited.
Undesirable effects:
Ointment: in rare cases, due to the ointment’s alcohol content, temporary irritations with reddening and burning can occur in especially previously damaged skin areas (scratch effects).

Ointment: 25 g, 100 g
Film coated tablets: 50 pcs., 100 pcs.
Drops: 50 ml
